Audio Power

Unity 3 provides some of the world's strongest audio tools through FMOD. This gives you the world's leading audio engine, with the world's best editing tools on top.

Edit Away

All key audio properties are driven by attenuation curves in the inspector. This gives you the smoothest workflow to getting your worlds to sound just right.

Tracker Power

To conserve distribution size, Unity support most common tracker file formats: MOD, IT, S3M and XM can be pulled in and used natively in the project. Naturally, all filters work on them.

Live Previewing

Simply turn on the preview button to hear your complete environment in the editor. Never before has audio tweaking been so natural, yet so powerful.

Instant-on Streaming

Ogg Theora video and Ogg Vorbis audio files can be streamed from the net. No need to bloat your Web Player download size with several audio tracks before they're needed.

Filters

Unity Pro supports extensive audio filters – DSP effects that let you create truly amazing experiences. Key properties can be driven by listener distance – and of course there's a full scripting API. Filters can be added to individual audio sources, or to your listener object to affect all incoming sounds.

High/Low pass

Want to make party music change tone as your character walks away? Easy – simply fade in a lowpass filter over distance, and you're good to go. No scripting required.

Distortion

Is your sound too clean, too well-defined, not fitting the mood of your graphics? Fear not. Simply add some distortion effects to your listener and turn them on from a script when you need a more gritty ambience.

Chorus

Instantly make any sound richer and get multiple sounds from one source with the chorus filter.

Echo

Add this to a sound source for instant valley-effects. Or put the echo filter on a listener and turn it on when you need an extra level of weirdness.

Reverb

In the real world, no sound exists in isolation. Unity features a high-quality reverb filter with both presets and full customization.

You can also create reverb zones in your scenes, affecting sounds by area. So footstep in a damp cellar will actually sound like that without you having to double up on source samples.
