For Unity 3 we developed an integrated tree authoring tool. You can use a mix of procedural generation and hand placement freely across different parts of your tree.

Integrated Editing

Set up your tree within the Unity editor, add branches twigs and leaves with realtime previewing in the editor. Rearrange tree hierarchies with simple drag and drop.

Automated Texture Atlasing

Simply assign leaf, branch and twig materials to your tree. Unity will atlas all textures together and bake the maps you need. It will also calculate ambient occlusion and wind factors for your tree.

Automatic Fillrate Optimization

Unity 3 automatically optimizes your leaf quads from the texture, giving 20-30% fillrate optimization.
