Develop Mixed Reality Applications
with Unity for Microsoft HoloLens
Welcome to the Unity HoloLens. Microsoft and Unity have been working closely to provide Unity developers the tools to create Mixed Reality (MR) applications for HoloLens. Microsoft’s HoloLens is a revolutionary device and creating content for it will require equally revolutionary ideas. We would love to hear feedback from you, our developer community to know how we can improve Unity to make creation of MR content even easier!
Unity for HoloLens is now available in the Unity Editor (Unity 5.5) Download it here to get started!
Developers can order up to five devices through the online store, with shipping to the US and Canada. Buy now.
There is extensive documentation on the HoloLens platform and even suggestions of how to best use Unity on HoloLens at Microsoft's HoloLens Documentation pages. Or take the Microsoft Holograms 101e: Introduction with Emulator course.
Additionally the Unity documentation includes both manual pages and API documentation on the new HoloLens features.
Have questions or want to provide feedback to Unity? Head over to the HoloLens Technical Preview Forum. For all Windows development and hardware questions, please submit your questions or comments here.
As always with Betas and Previews we greatly appreciate our users reporting bugs. For directions on submitting bugs take a look at http://unity3d.com/unity/qa/bug-reporting.
