HOW TO ENTER AND SELECTION OF WINNERS
This contest will start Thursday, June 15 00:01 PDT through Wednesday, July 6 23:59 PDT. To enter the competition, you must have submitted a story, as set forth above, to the MWU website. At the end of the contest submission period, Unity will select ten (10) winners from all stories published during the contest submission period based on how much the story was shared, number of unique views and editorial review. Editorial review considers how articulate and well written the submission is, its incorporation of images and media and how well it tells the story of your game and/or its development.
A prize of one (1) Unite LA passes will be awarded to ten (10) winners by Thursday, July 14at 15:00 PDT. Each developer team may not win more than one (1) prize. If a winner of the contest is under the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence as of the date the winner is announced, then such individual’s parent or legal guardian must accept the prize on his/her behalf.
ODDS OF WINNINGThe odds of winning will depend on the number of stories published within the contest submission period.
One (1) Unite LA pass redeemable at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/unite-2016-los-angeles-tickets-24408401185. The value of this prize is US$475, and does not include travel or lodging expenses when attending the event.
There will be no substitutions or cash redemptions, provided that Unity reserves the right to substitute a prize in whole or in part for a prize of equal or greater value in the event that any component of the original prize is unavailable for any reason. Prizes may not be sold, bartered or transferred. Prizes do not include any additional expenses, including but not limited to federal, state, provincial and local sales or other taxes and surcharges, which are the responsibility of each winner. The approximate retail value of the prizes represents Unity’s good faith determination. That determination is final and binding and cannot be appealed. If the actual value of the prize turns out to be less than the stated approximate retail value, the difference will not be awarded in cash.
Payments of all federal, state and local taxes related to the award of a prize are solely the responsibility of the winner of the prize. The winner will be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 with the winner’s full Social Security Number or the equivalent for receipt of any prize valued at US$600 or more or for any prizes awarded by Unity in a calendar year with an aggregate value of $600 or more, and such winnings will be reported to the IRS. Failure to submit a complete W-9 or equivalent will result in forfeiture of the prize.
